Hope Ministries

David Burrier was our guest speaker for February. David is a director at Hope Ministries in Des Moines. He shared with us his experiences working with homeless people, and the rewards reaped when they graduate their program and are able to find a job and an apartment. The Key Club had been working on gathering winter clothing items to present to David. Barb overwhelmed him with all of the clothes donated! Hope Ministries is the largest private-run homeless shelter system in Iowa. This means that they receive no funding from the government. They run solely on donations of time and money. If you are interested in volunteering at one of their many facilities, please visit www.hopeiowa.org
